Customer Success Team

Last updated on Dec 25, 2023

**Disqus **is a blog comment hosting service that includes various features, such as, social integrations, social networking, user profiles, mobile commenting, etc. It enables your website to gain a feature-rich comment system with loads of additional useful functions.

To get started, you first need to create an account on Disqus. The next steps should be installing Disqus on your site and acquiring a Disqus Shortname. Just enter your Ucraft sitename and a unique URL will be generated for you instantly.

The shortname can be found in the address bar of your browser as example.disqus.com/admin or in your General Site Settings.

Once you've got the code, you've got the keys!

Move to your Ucraft website's Dashboard and find Disqus in the **Integrations App.**That's exactly where your Disqus Shortname should be pasted.

Once you've added the URL and hit 'Connect', you'll notice a green light indicating the successful integration.

Afterwards, move to your site's Edit Mode and add the Disqus Element from the Elements section to the desired area on your page.

In case you haven't connected your Disqus Account yet, you'll get the following box where you can simply add the Shortname mentioned above and get started.

That's it! Please click 'Preview' to view your site in Public Mode and see the result.

Alignment - To change the alignment settings of the Button, click on the ‘Alignment’ icon you’ll have three options available: top, center, bottom. Just choose the one, you prefer.

Visibility Settings -  It enables making a certain Element/Block appear on Desktop, Mobile only, or everywhere by default. Simply hit Visibility Settings and choose the desired option from the dropdown menu to get full control over the Visibility of the elements on your page.

Next comes Location visibility. Include or exclude specific cities or countries or set the appropriate Custom IP.

Mind the Session visibility as well. The latter one, allows to make certain elements visible only to the logged in users of your website. This works well with User Account element and can come in handy if you want to hide some content from users until they sign up to your website.
