Welcome to the Site Settings App, where you can manage all the major site settings in one place.
To get started, simply move to your ‘Dashboard’ on the Left Panel and click the Site Settings App.
You'll find two sections there: Basic and Code Injection.
Site Offline - if you don't want your users to see your site before it's complete, you can set your site offline.
Password Protect - allows you to password protect your entire site. If you want to edit the Password Protected page, simply navigate to your Pages App > System Pages > Password Protected > edit it to your liking.
Site Versioning – Will come in handy when connecting your Ucraft website to your custom domain. If the versioning option is enabled, all the changes made to your Ucraft website will not appear on your domain unless you use the Publishing functionality.
Site Caching – This feature helps with reducing server lag. When enabled, it will automatically save the data of your website to ensure fast loading for the next entries.
Site Name - to change what it says on your browser's tab as your site name, simply edit it from this section.
In addition, there are two language settings you can control separately for your site:
- Language of the Edit mode
- Public Mode Language Detection
Language of the Edit mode - The edit mode language is what you see when you log in and edit your site, like the words in the Dashboard and Left panel. Currently, the 3 supported languages are English, Russian or Armenian.
Public Mode Language Detection - this feature allows you to change the built-in text visitors see including dates, form field labels, and navigation controls according to the Languages available in your website.
That being said, it automatically sets a default language for your visitors when they first open your website. The default language depends on either the location (IP address) or the browser's default language.
- Please keep in mind that you'll need to have a custom domain connected in order for this feature to work.
Timezone - You can also set your Timezone, which is automatically set in accounts upon website creation. It can be useful when working with specific Elements, such as Countdown, as the Timezone of your Website can affect the timing of your Elements.
Favicon - It is the tiny icon that appears on your browser tab next to the Site name.
Either upload an image from your own device or choose from our Free Stock.
The Mobile Touch Icon is a file used for a web page icon for your iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. It's basically a bookmark for a specific page.
This icon is used when someone bookmarks your web page or adds your web page to their home screen. Simply upload a PNG file from your device, or choose from our Free Stock.
Here’s how it works:
First, open up Safari > load a site page > tap the bookmark icon. At the bottom of the screen you'll see an ‘Add to home screen' icon.
Once clicked on, you'll see the option to choose a name for the home screen icon.
Ucraft also allows to add HTML tags in the 'Code Injection' section.
Fill the appropriate fields with the desired tags and click ‘Save’. Keep in mind that the codes added in the Code Injection section apply to the entire site.
Also note that the code will go active once you've connected a Custom Domain to your Ucraft Website.
