If you’re thinking about managing your Facebook Ads, conversion tracking, optimizing and re-marketing, Facebook Pixel will come in handy. 


Facebook offers you the option to measure the effectiveness of your advertising through understanding the actions people take on your website and reach audiences you care about.

You can use Facebook Pixel to make sure your ads are being shown to the right people, build advertising audiences and drive more sales.

When a visitor takes an action on your website, Facebook Pixel is triggered and reports this action. Facebook Pixel comes to prove that if the visitor "leaves your website without saying a word, it isn’t the end of the world!”

Once you’ve got your site visitors’ data, you can reach that customer again through future Facebook ads and have another try to convert him.

In other words, you have a chance to suggest certain services or products to the potential customers as well as target Lookalike Audience who may be interested in what you actually offer. 

Moreover, you can track your site visitors’ behavior on certain pages through Standard and Custom conversions. You can follow how your visitors realize the checkouts, sign-ups and keep an eye on leads. Note: You need to have a custom domain connected to your website in order to use Analytics tools.

How to Get the Facebook Pixel Code

Step 1: Go to Facebook Business → Adverts Manager.
Step 2: Select Pixels from the “Assets” in Ads Manager.

Step 3: Pick a name for your unique Pixel and click “Next”.

Step 4: Almost there: now hit “Create Pixel”.

Step 5: Choose “Manually install the code yourself”. Here you’ll find the Code ready to be copied along with further instructions on how to manage it.

How to install the Facebook Pixel?

Step 1: Once you’ve got the code, move to your Ucraft website.
Step 2: Go to Dashboard → Site Settings App → Code Injection.
Step 3:
Paste the code at the bottom of the header section, just above the closing head tag.

Step 4: Time to make sure that your code's working correctly.
Step 5: Click “Send Test Traffic”. If your status says "Active", your base code has been installed successfully. It may take around 20 minutes to update.

The next step is setting up your Facebook re-targeting campaign.

To get started, log in to your Facebook Ads Manager and select Audiences.

Click on Create Audience and select Custom Audiences.

Navigate to ‘Website Traffic’ to reach your website visitors.

You can now select your target audience from the dropdown menu and define the visitors who'll be re-targeted.

To make sure your re-targeting campaigns are successful, your aim should be getting the attention of of a specific demographic. So, make sure to set the filters to match your campaign goals as best as you can.

How to Implement Facebook Pixel into your Store

You can follow the steps below if you want to track your STORE visitors and their behavior. 

Step 1: Copy the entire pixel code.
Step 2: Go to your Website's Dashboard → eCommerce App → Settings→ General → Tracking & Analytics.
Step 3: Then, paste your Facebook pixel ID to the text field and click Save Pixel.

When you've implemented the Facebook pixel ID to your online store, visit your storefront to send some traffic to the pixel. In a few minutes after the pixel fires for the first time, it will be shown as active in your Facebook Events Manager.

How to Add Custom Events for Form Submissions

Events are actions that happen on your website like when someone fills out a form or makes a purchase. The advantage of implementing custom events is that you can use conversion optimization and track more efficiently. Furthermore, using custom events will allow for a more detailed use of Facebook's Custom Audiences feature.

Custom conversions can be triggered either by button clicks, by form submissions or by visits to a thank you page (used as a conversion page).

To set up an event:

1. Go to the Pixels tab in Events Manager.
2. Click Set Up Pixel.
3. Click Manually Install the Code Yourself and click 'Continue'.
4. Click Install Events.
5. Select the event categories that are meaningful to your business, and choose how you'd like to track them.
6. Click the toggle icon next to 'Lead' option.

7. Select Track Event on Page Load or Track Event on Inline Action.

!Tip: Choose the 'Track Event on Page Load' option if the action you care about can be tracked when someone lands on a certain page, like a confirmation page after completing a purchase. Choose the 'Track Event on Inline Action' if the action you want to track requires someone to click something, like an add to cart or purchase button.

8. Add event parameters, like Conversion Value or Currency, to measure additional information about your event (Recommended).

9. Copy this event code.
10. Past it in your Form/Subscription Settings → After Successful → Submit Append Custom Code section and click 'Save'.

Check the status of your event by triggering the event on your live web page. If your status is shown as Active, the event has been successfully added. Note that this process may take several minutes.

How to Create an Advert

Let’s say that the “Cheap flights to LA” adverts magically appears on your Facebook feed right after you’ve searched for plane tickets on a booking website. That’s Facebook re-targeting! To do the same, simply: 

  • Choose Create Advert next to the audience(s) that you wish to target.
  • Select your advertising objective and set up the rest of your advert to match your business needs.
  • Don’t forget about Lookalike Audience option from the dropdown menu to target more potential clients.

That’s it!
