In this article, we'll introduce you to the platform called Intercom, a practical set of
tools that allow you to manage conversations with your site visitors and send targeted messages to the right people at a right time.
Let us start with how you can connect the platform to your Ucraft website.
If you haven't already, please create an account on Intercom. Once you do, navigate to your App Settings → API Keys.
From there, simply copy the App ID → navigate to the edit mode of your Ucraft Website → Integrations App → Intercom → Messenger → paste the ID and hit connect.
Once you've successfully connected Intercom to your website, you'll notice a Chat icon appear in the lower right corner of your site.
TIP: You can easily customize the Chatbox to match your website's look and feel, as well as manage the App right from your Intercom Settings!
To access the Intercom API, you'll need an access token. You'll need to use the given Access Token if you're using the API to access data in your own Intercom workplace.
As soon as you create an app on your workspace in Intercom, you'll be provided with an Access Token. You can find it in the Configure → Authentication section in your app within the Developer Hub.
You can also find it in your Test & Publish → Your Workplaces page of your App in the Developer Hub.
Once you get it, copy the Access Token → go to the Edit Mode of your Ucraft Website → Dashboard → Integrations App → Intercom → People → paste it in the appropriate field → hit connect.
